You can stack layers of different kind and perform all kind of effects. Image Layers, Text Layers, Paths Layers, we even have Wavelets Layers! If you work with Apple Aperture or Adobe Lightroom it is just there. You can work with multiple images at a time. The canvas can even be extended beyond the limit of your screen. Most of the tools work with a virtual mecanism for extra fast preview even on large pictures You can work separately on the RGB channels but you have also a permanent selection channel, a transparency channel for cutout of different kind. You can work with LayerMask. You even have on many tools a virtual lens and a quickmask.
